Opening for PGY-2 Pediatric Resident
Goryeb Children’s Hospital Pediatric Residency Program at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ is currently recruiting a pediatric resident to join our department as a PGY-2 on July 1, 2025. We are an ACGME accredited program with 36 pediatric residents, 12 per year.
Our program combines the best features of a university program with a community-based children’s hospital setting. We receive more than 3,000 admissions and over 95,000 outpatient visits per year, perform cutting-edge research, and employ more than 100 general pediatric and subspecialty faculty members. Morristown Medical Center is a regional referral center and is verified as a Level I Regional Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and designated a Level II by the state of New Jersey. We serve approximately 1,200 square miles of northwest NJ, the southern tip of New York State and the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.

Prerequisites for Training:
- Completion of medical training by graduating from one of the following:
- US/Canadian LCME accredited medical school.
- Accredited college of osteopathic medicine by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).
- An ECFMG certified medical school outside of the US.
- Pass/passing scores on USMLE Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3 or COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2 and 3 exams.
- Completion of the first year in good standing at an ACGME accredited pediatric residency program.

- Personal Statement outlining your career plans
- Copy of your medical school transcript
- Copy of your USMLE or COMLEX scores
- Copy of ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
- Visa status (if applicable)
In advance of an offer, we would also need:
- Programmatic letter confirming your completed rotations and credit attained and reported to the ABP
- Summative evaluation from program
- Final milestone tracking as submitted to the ACGME
All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis as of the program start date.
